Contests to win a franchise and incentives for vetarans are two tactics that currently promoted by franchisors looking to expand their locations:

  • Veterans franchisesJDog Junk Removal has launched an expansion program offering its franchise solely to military veterans and their families. It currently has four U.S. locations – VetFran 
  • 7-Eleven has increased its franchise fee discount for military veterans – Franchising USA
  • FlipFlop-Dogs, which touts itself as “an alternative to kenneling,” is holding an essay contest to award a franchise to a military veteran – VetFran
  • The International Franchise Associationhas earned the 2014 ASAE Power of A Gold Award for its Veterans Transition Franchise Program (VetFran) and Operation Enduring Opportunity initiative – press release
