Mobile Devices Power Over One-Third of Entrepreneurs Seeking Franchises and Businesses for Sale

Lead-generation trends shared by Landmark Interactive’s Franchise Group, the largest network of online franchise directories
Atlanta, GA – (October 10, 2013) – Savvy entrepreneurs are turning to smart phones and tablet computers to make smarter decisions about franchise opportunities and which businesses to buy.
According to the latest data from the largest network of franchise-investment directories, more than one-third of online franchise-investment inquiries now come from mobile devices.
Mobile Internet Franchise Leads“It’s doubled again, for the second year in a row,” said Michael Alston, president of Landmark Interactive.
“Last year, we were surprised to see new-business investors contacting franchisors through these smaller screens,” said Steve Olson, president of the Franchise Update Media Group. “This year, it’s astounding to how much recruitment actually starts there. “
“Smart marketers will find a way to connect with prospects in the mobile channels,” Olson said.
New research was shared with industry executives at the Franchise Update Leadership and Development conference in Atlanta today, based on visits to the largest online franchise recruitment sites, including Franchise.com, FranchiseOpportunities.com, FranchiseSolutions.com, FranchiseGator.com and BusinessBroker.net. The companies have pioneered online franchise sales since 1995.
Research showed:

  • Mobile visitors now account for 37.9% of all visitors to the group’s digital sites and 34.7% of all qualified investment inquiries to franchisors.
  • Mobile share of investment prospects has doubled in the past 12 months, from 17.5% in August 2012 to 34.7% in August 2013, after doubling from 9% in 2011.
  • Mobile-phone use grew faster than tablets in the past months, with the share of Internet leads from phones growing 130% in just 12 months.
  • Tablet users are high-value prospects, and were 10.7% more likely to request franchise information with $100,000 or more to invest.
